13 Seconds
You're a rogue AI virus with only 13 seconds to live inside an alien mainframe — dash through neon hex chambers, dodge the antivirus, and shut down every power core before deletion.
About this game
You are a weaponized AI virus infiltrating the network of an alien race that has enslaved humanity for over two centuries. The alien antivirus will find and delete you in just 13 seconds, but death is not the end. Every time you are caught, you respawn and can follow the exact path your previous attempt carved through the system, using your own backtrace as a shield or shortcut. You race through a striking low-poly, neon-lit 3D maze of hexagonal chambers, collecting corrupted data and disabling power generators and weapon systems level by level.
Precise, twitchy movement and a hard time limit make every run tense and short, while the trail-based respawn mechanic turns repeated failure into a puzzle-like tool for planning your next attempt. You clear every level and destroy the alien network's main memory core to free humanity.
Tips: You have 13 seconds per attempt, so move quickly toward each level's objective. When you are deleted, retrace the path from your previous run to help you get further. Reach and disable every generator in a level to advance. Destroy the final memory core to win.
You press any key at the intro screen to begin. You move with WASD or the arrow keys and restart the current attempt with Backspace. The game was originally released as xx142-b2.exe, winner of the Overall/Desktop category at js13kGames 2019.
