About this game

Lane Hopper is a colorful voxel arcade game where every hop counts. You guide your little hero across an endless world of busy roads, rushing rivers and rail tracks, one lane at a time.

You dodge cars and trucks speeding down the roads, jump onto floating logs and lily pads to cross the rivers without falling in, and watch for the flashing warning light before a train comes roaring through. Trees and rocks block your way on the grassy lanes, so plan your path carefully. Do not wait too long, though: the world keeps moving forward, and if you fall behind, the run is over. The further you go, the faster the traffic gets and the longer the roads and rivers become.

Tips: Check the speed of the vehicles before you enter a lane. On a river, do not let a log carry you off the edge, and keep moving. A flashing red light at a rail track means a train is coming. On grass, go around trees and rocks.

You pick up gold coins along the way to unlock new heroes such as Duckling, Penguin, Robot, Fox and Alien, plus hop trails and new worlds from Autumn and Candy to a snowy Winter. Your best score, coins and unlocked items are saved. You tap to hop forward, or swipe up, down, left or right to hop in that direction. On the keyboard you hop with the arrow keys or WASD, Space hops forward and Esc pauses.

How to play

Hop forward one lane at a time and get as far as you can. Avoid the cars and trucks on the roads. On rivers, land on logs or lily pads, because falling in the water ends the run, and don't let a log carry you off the edge. When a red light flashes at a rail track, a train is coming. Trees and rocks block your way on grass. Keep moving: if you stand still too long, the screen leaves you behind. Collect gold coins to unlock new heroes and worlds.

Controls

Tap: hop forward. Swipe up, down, left or right: hop in that direction. Keyboard: Arrow keys or WASD to hop, Space to hop forward. Esc: pause.
