About this game

Splat.io is a relaxed, colorful paint game for everyone. You are a little paint blob on a giant blank canvas, and wherever you roll you leave a trail of your color. Seven rivals are doing the same, and when someone paints over your color, it becomes theirs. When the 90-second timer runs out, whoever owns the most paint wins the round.

Nobody gets knocked out and nobody can hurt you. If a rival paints over your work, you just roll back and take it again. You grab the power-ups that pop up on the canvas: Big Brush leaves a much wider trail for a few seconds, Speed lets you zoom across the canvas and Splat Bomb instantly paints a huge splash. Every round is played on a full canvas, because friendly bots join so there is always a game to play.

Tips: Take an area back by painting over the rival's color, and watch the live paint share board and the mini map. Grab power-ups when they have just popped up on the canvas. The mini map helps you find empty areas or ones that have gone to a rival. Try to finish the round in the last seconds with a Splat Bomb.

After every round you earn coins, even when you finish last, and spend them in the Paint Shop on hats and blob skins like Rainbow, Sparkle, Galaxy and Gold. On desktop you steer with the mouse (the farther the cursor, the faster you go), WASD or the arrow keys also work and Esc opens the menu. On mobile you drag the on-screen stick, in landscape.

How to play

Move your blob to paint the canvas in your color. Paint over other colors to take that area from the other players. Pick up power-ups (big brush, speed, splat bomb) to paint faster. When the 90-second timer ends, the player with the most paint wins. You earn coins every round, so spend them in the Paint Shop on hats and skins. Watch an optional ad after a round to double your coins.

Controls

Desktop: move the mouse to steer (the farther the cursor, the faster you go), WASD or arrow keys also steer, Esc pauses the game and opens the menu.

Mobile: drag the on-screen stick to steer. Play in landscape.
