About this game

Warbirds.io is a free multiplayer war game that runs in your browser and is set in a blocky, voxel-style world. You pick a side, then take to the map in an aircraft, a tank or a warship to capture and hold the single golden ring.

Each vehicle class plays differently. Aircraft can dogfight, strafe ground targets and drop bombs. Tanks handle the ground fight, and warships bring long-range guns and torpedoes. Controls can be rebound in Settings and gamepads are supported. On a phone you steer with the left thumbstick, set throttle with the left slider, shoot with the FIRE button and use the on-screen chips for crew actions.

Tips: In an aircraft, raise throttle with Shift (or Z) and lower it with Ctrl (or X), and adjust your speed to the situation. If you do not like aiming with the mouse, toggle mouse aim with V. In a tank, X swaps the shell type, and the mouse lays the gun with automatic ranging. Hold Tab to see the scoreboard and keep track of who holds the ring.

There is nothing to download: open the page and play. A keyboard and mouse on desktop give the most comfortable experience, and because each vehicle has plenty of keys, a quick look at the controls list in Settings helps during your first rounds.

How to play

Choose a team and a vehicle — aircraft, tank, or warship — then fight to capture and hold the golden ring. Aircraft can strafe, bomb, and dogfight; tanks control ground combat; warships bring long-range naval guns and torpedoes. Controls are fully rebindable in Settings, and gamepads/HOTAS are supported.
